Whitehaven harbour - beginning of the C2C

The Sea-to-Sea (C2C) bike ride

From 15 - 17 May 2008, Peter Morgan and I, Peter Hobley, embarked on a bicycle ride from Whitehaven in Cumbria to Tynemouth in Newcastle: the Sea-to-Sea (C2C).

Here you can read about our trip in the day-by-day diary. Each page has photos too for added enjoyment*. For those who may be planning a similar trip hopefully our experiences will inspire, guide and forewarn you. Let's hope they don't deter you!

Any comments or questions, just email me.

Why did we do it?

Why not! It's something that any cycling enthusiast has heard of and would like to do some day.

We're always saying we'll get round to these things eventually, so in late 2007 we decided we'd be going for the C2C in 2008. We started planning with the Sustrans C2C map and some rather helpful advice from the definitive C2C guide.
